(Instead of having this combined with general CommVEx v7 2011 information, here is a separate thread with all the summarized details.)
CommVEx is moving to the Vegas Club Hotel & Casino at 18 E. Fremont St. (across the street from the Plaza Hotel), Las Vegas, Nevada 89101, phone number (800) 634-6532 toll-free or (702) 385-1664. The website is http://www.vegasclubcasino.net
There will be a block of Vegas Club Hotel rooms set aside for CommVEx attendees, just as there had been at the Plaza Hotel.
For 2011 you only have until June 22 to reserve a room at the Vegas Club Hotel. Mention the CommVEx name when reserving your room so that you can get the special rates. Here are the rates.
A block of 10 rooms have been set aside for CommVEx. The rates are $49 per night Friday and Saturday for a single/double, and $29 for Sunday night for a single/double (all prices not including room tax). Each additional person above a double room is an extra $15, maximum of 4 persons to a room.
Hotel occupancy tax is 13%. Check-in time is 3 p.m.; check-out time is 11 a.m.. Reservations are to be confirmed through individual call-in prior to *June 23, 2011*, by calling the Central Reservations Department at 1 800 634-6575 option 1 and saying that you are reserving under the group name, CommVEx. After June 23, any rooms remaining unsold will be released back to the hotel, and the group rate may not be available. Note: Saturday arrivals are not accepted unless approved by the Director of Sales or Central Reservations Manager. (If you think you'll be arriving on Saturday, tell me, and I'll try to work out something with the Plaza.)
There will be a $50 refundable deposit required should you wish to bill phone calls, food, etc., to your rooms. This deposit will be used toward any unpaid incidental charges.
It is possible to get a better room rate than the CommVEx rate mentioned above. Go to http://www.hotels.com and look for hotels in Las Vegas. There you may see the Vegas Club Hotel with a different (better) rate.

Re: CommVEx v7 2011 accomodations
As of Monday, May 2, the Las Vegas Club Hotel & Casino has special room rates if you go to their website at http://www.vegasclubcasino.net Sunday through Thursday nights are at $16.99 per night, and Friday and Saturday nights are at $44.99 per night. Surprisingly, Hotels.com is giving a much higher price for three nights at the Las Vegas Club Hotel.

Re: CommVEx v7 2011 accomodations
At the other end of the Fremont Street Experience, a few blocks to the east of the Las Vegas Club Hotel, is the comfortable, historic El Cortez Hotel. Very much locked in time in the 1960's (except for its new Cabana Suites in a nearby building), the El Cortez epitomizes old-school Las Vegas. Its rates are comparable to the Las Vegas Hotel, especially if you book through http://www.hotels.com And the freebies that you receive at the front desk upon check-in are better than the Las Vegas Club Hotel.
So, if you don't mind the walk between our expo hotel and the El Cortez, then the El Cortez is an excellent alternate. Go to http://www.elcortezhotelcasino.com or call (702) 385-5200 or toll free (800) 634-6703 .
Back from looking at 140+ PETs and more,

Re: CommVEx v7 2011 accomodations
The hotel biz changes quickly. At http://www.hotels.com yesterday, the pricing was lower than going through the Vegas Club Hotel's website. If you decide to use Hotels.com, the Las Vegas Club Hotel can be found as the "Vegas Club Hotel". I've booked my stay now -- arriving on Tuesday, July 19 and departing on Monday, July 25.rbernardo wrote:Surprisingly, Hotels.com is giving a much higher price for three nights at the Las Vegas Club Hotel.

For those who are booking with the CommVEx rate, you only have until June 22 to get in with that deal. However, you can still book at any time with the hotel website --
