CLASS 2026 Democompo !!!

Announcing the first ever demo competition for the Commodore Los Angeles Super Show! With the encouragement of others, we are holding a democompo within our April 25-26 show! Here are the Categories open to democoders --

Graphics -- including PETSCII, bit-mapped, 3D
Music -- includings SIDs and MODs
Intros -- Commodore or Amiga
Demos -- including animation
Wild -- for Commodore/Amiga that doesn't fit in the above

and here are the General Rules --

Limitations

• Only the creator(s) of the entry can submit his/her/their entry.
• Compo entries must not have been previously released. Pure rips/copies will be disqualified. However, entries may use previously published material such as soundtracks or artwork, provided the work as a whole is substantially new. How substantial this is will be decided by the CLASS organizer.
• If you are submitting an entry in the Graphics section, you must show two stages in the build-up process to the completed graphic.
• No AI-generated or inspired entries are permitted..

Technical Requirements

• Entries must be able to run on one of the following machines --

Commodore 64 (PAL or NTSC),
Ultimate 64/C64 Ultimate (specify if acceleration needed and/or REU needed, PAL or NTSC),
Commodore 128 (40-column or 80-column, PAL or NTSC),
Commodore Plus/4 or Commodore 16 (NTSC only),
Commodore VIC-20 (NTSC only, with or without RAM expansion),
Commodore PET (40-column, 32K RAM),
Commodore B128 (NTSC only)
classic Amiga (OCS, ECS, or AGA), or
AmigaOne (OS 4.1 FE).

Please specify for which machine the entry must run on and any special RAM requirements.
• All entries must be easily identifiable and use logical filenames.
• Entries must be free of third party rights. No ripped music or vocal samples, no movie snippets, no closeups of trademarked logos, etc.

Entry Requirements

• All entries will be reviewed before presentation and voting at CLASS 2026.
• Upload your entry as soon as possible so that it can be tested on the CLASS compo hardware. Final date to upload is April 22. D64’s, D71’s, D80’s, D81’s, TAP’s, PRG’s, and .ADF’s are preferred. Upload to [email protected] Physical floppy disks/USB sticks may be submitted by mail but must arrive before April 22. Mail to CLASS, 502 S. Whitney Dr., Visalia, CA 93277-1940, USA.
• We have the right not to show your production if we think it is unsuitable.

Compo details

• All entries shown at CLASS will be distributed to websites so that they can be downloaded.
• During the competition, we have the right to skip parts of the entries, especially scrollers. This is to keep the total compo running time down.
• If there are less than three entries for a compo, the given compo will either be canceled or combined with another compo.

Disqualifications

• Demos that promote racism, child pornography, discrimination against disabled persons/gender identity/gay/trans/religious affiliation, overt sexual language and imagery, and any kind of content that violates the law will be disqualified.
• Violation of these rules will lead to disqualification of your entry during and up to 3 months after CLASS. If there is a disqualification, the compo results will be updated. As a consequence of this, you agree to return any prizes you might have received from CLASS.
• Disqualified entries will not be distributed by CLASS for download and will not be voted for at CLASS. However, disqualified entries may be entered in other parties.
• Disqualifications are final.

Submissions for the CLASS Democompo have been extended until Friday night Pacific Time! You have more time to work on your demos!

The CLASS Democompo will take place late Sunday afternoon, April 26.
