Hi everyone, my first post just to say hello, my name is Tony, I'm from the UK and I'm a recently retired building surveyor. I first got involved with the early 8-bit computers, there were several in the UK, starting in the late 70's, through the 80's. I have collected a room full of 8 and 16 bit hardware, my favourites were initially the Atari range, then the Commodore VIC and 64. I didn't rate the 16bit era too much, not too sure why, so I progressed onto PC's, like most others, I have several consoles also. More recently I bought a Commodore 8096 computer and the 8025 LP DD, unfortunately the 8096 lasted only a few minutes before it emitted a loud crack and filled the room with smoke. I stripped the computer down to clean up the casing, and boy what quality this kit is, it is several milli thick, built like a tank and cleaned up like new, not sure whether the issue is the actual power supply, or a problem on the MB, seems to be 'blackened' around the bottom left hand corner of the MB slightly, but there you go. I picked up another wierd beast as well a few years ago, but again a bit of a white elephant as they say, doesn't appear to be any software for it, its a Commodore P500, again, very nice to look at though. Well, thats me, and a bit of my history, pity the enthusiasm in America and Canada is not repeated over here in the UK. I like the look of the site and its nice to see there is at least some interest out there
Regards
