Information about the C= 116

Post by Gambit »

I have come across a Commodore 116 and am considering purchasing it.

The problem is, that as a collector I normally only purchase things that come mint in original box. This item does not have a box, nor cables or anything.

How rare are these things? I have never seen one, so I am thinking I should buy it even if it doesn't have the original box. What do you think my chances of ever coming across a mint C= 116 in its original box?

If you do any search on the Net, you'll find they are somewhat rare. I think they were a precursor to the Plus/4? A stripped down c64? If the price is right, go for it. I'm sure acquiring cables or making them should not be a problem. I myself have acquired an SX-64 and a few 1541 drives, I'm trying to get the onboard floppy to work right now. I kind of wish I got a fully working SX-64, but I got it for $20.00, and I didn't want to pass it up.
