Well... If the presenter isn't me... Then my last message isn't nearly as funny. 8)

Looks as if Dick Estel, FCUG treasurer, will make it to CommVEx v4. Delayed from v3, his presentation this year will be on

* the FRD (Font Resource Directory) for GEOS and on FRD graphics.

Decided at today's FCUG meeting... a presentation on VIC-20 games in general.

Also a presentation on highly-modded C64 DTVs.

Michael C. Battilana of Cloanto is coming all the way from Venice, Italy (!) in order to attend CommVEx v4. He will be there all day on Saturday and
Sunday.

He will introduce the new C64 Forever project and the more general RetroPlatform framework which was also used in the new Amiga Forever 2008 DVDs/CDs.

Let's all give him a hearty welcome for travelling such a long distance!

Jeri not attending CommVEx this year

Post by rbernardo »

After today's TOGA meeting, I spoke to Jeri Ellsworth at the California Extreme arcade show in San Jose, California. (Heh, not wanting to pay the $35 entrance fee just to find one person, I waited at the door until I saw someone familiar. It was Dale Luck. We shook hands, and I asked him to find Jeri. He went back inside and in a few minutes, Jeri came out of the tournament.)

Jeri says that it is "unlikely" that she will make it to CommVEx this year, due to work on the house (ooo, contractor horror stories) and a business trip to San Antonio, Texas.

I even tried to bribe her with a gift straight from Paris. ;-) Wrapped in a fine quality, French paper bag, it was a light-up, blinking, miniature Eiffel Tower (very Chinese-made). ;-) She remarked, "I want to take it apart and see how it works. Look. It has test points."

Oh, well... not convincing enough,

At today's FCUG meeting, we went through final preparation details for CommVEx and reviewed Big Blue Reader v4.10 on Dick's CMD hard drive. All is ready, including PC floppy disks with files waiting for BBR conversion.
