I'm new too, and a real person - so this is the first of my two 'approval' posts. Hope I pass!
I started in the Commodore arena back in 1980, playing with a PET in maths class at school. I got a VIC-20 for Christmas in 1982, complete with C2N and the 8K RAM cart. I upgraded that little beastie over the next four years or so, adding various coding and utility carts, a 4-slot motherboard with switchable RAM, and a bunch of homebrew electronics gadgets. Then I transferred to a Plus/4 with a 1540 in '85, and then went 16-bit with an Amiga in '87 - but found myself in a minority of one, as everyone else I knew had the Atari ST, and so reluctantly left Commodore behind later that year and spent the next 5 years in Atari-land before making the jump to 'serious' PC usage.
Fast-forward to 2003-ish, and I discovered Stella and started writing 6502 again for the first time in almost 20 years. Soon after, I started collecting 'antique' machines (I now have over 30 micros from the '78-'88 era) and of course one of the first to be reclaimed was a VIC-20 with a 'proper' vertical C2N rather than the more common horizontal variant. In my spare time I now write lots of 6502 for this wonderful machine - my current project being a replacement ROM OS to repurpose the VIC hardware as a completely new machine.

I'm a newbie too and definitely a real person no matter the approval is gained of not 
I don't own any commodore hardware actually. I just got learned about it just a few days ago (I'm studying BS in Computer Science) and found it's history quite fascinating and glorious (obviously!). Well, I am not a techno geek at all but just trying to know more. I am not sure if I can avail a hardware though I have already collected some books on it and found myself quite comfortable being in this forum. Let's see if it brings out something fruitful.
