Commodore
Listen folks! I love my Commodores! But, how in Hell could you ever begin to compare a modern PC with ANY Commodore? I have a cheap $300 Compact Pesario which is good enough for Internet use and to play some old PC games, yet it would run galactic circles around any Comodore computer (I don't care wh...

PETs
Hello, Based on my very limited knowledge of the subject, you cannot put a PET 2001-N series motherboard into a chicklet PET. There are simply too many changes in the two designs. The PET 2001-N series is a complete redesign of the chicklet PET. Although, based on the book I have, Commodore started ...

PET
You have what is called a 2001 "chicklet" PET. It is called a chicklet PET because of the chicklet style keyboard. I have a 2001-N series PET. My PET is the next generation of PETs after yours. My PET has the full keyboard and no built-in cassette player. The motherboards in our PETS are s...

Book
I'm very excited about this new book based on the Commodore 64. I must admit, I was stopped dead in my tracks by the $50.00 pre-pay price. That's a lot of money without knowing what the author intends to include in the book. Will this be another great history of Commodore like "Home Computer Wa...

Help with .D64 transfers
I just bought a XM1541 cable in an attempt to transfer .D64 games from my PC to my Commodore 1541 drive. I'm trying to use it with CBM4WIN software. I must be getting slow in my old age, because I'm having a hard time following the directions that came with the software (it certainly wasn't written ...

PET Problem
I can't be certain, but it sounds like you have ROM damage. The only thing you can do is replace the ROM chips. I'm no expert and other causes might be at fault, but I'd put my money on the ROM.

Chicklet PETs
I made my comments about the chicklet PETs because I am baffled by the amout of money they are getting on ebay compared to any other series of Commodore PET/CBM computers . I simply can't understand why they are so popular compared to others in the Commodore inventory. So, I began to wonder if there...

Chicklet PET
Could someone please explain to me the appeal of the old chicklet PETs. Personally, I won't buy anything less than a PET 2001-N-16 series (of which I own several). The PET 2001-N series are at least useful. They have a full size keyboard which is wonderful for typing and sufficient memory for seriou...

Thanks!
Thanks for the information about the Zimmers.com website. I went there and found a repair manual for the CBM 8050 disk drive. The manual stated that the likely cause of the problem was indeed a faulty 6502 chip. I replaced the chip with another 6502 chip I had available, but it made no difference. T...

Problem with a Commodore CBM 8050 duel disk drive...
I just purchased a Commodore CBM 8050 duel disk drive. When connected to my CBM 8032, all three status lights on the drive unit come on and stay on. The three lights are all constant red. I tried accessing the disk error channels and got the following: DS=10 ST=3 I also tried the following error cha...

2001 Pet
Is it a PET 2001 with the chicklet keyboard? Or, is it a PET 2001-n series with a full keyboard (no cassette player)? I've seen the PET 2001s with the chicklet keyboard go on Ebay for over $200(US). The PET 2001-n series for between $100-$200. I would love to buy it from you, but the cost to ship it...
