I just posted a bunch of new ad's on our two gallery ad. pages:
http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/adverts ... re/ads.htm and
http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/adverts ... _other.htm
The ad that I was not able to even attempt to translate is a Japanese ad. If you have can even read Japanese, I would appreciate it if you would review it and let me know what is says.
Thanks in advance.

I will forward the ads to our club member, Mitch Zollinger, for translation.administrator wrote:The ad that I was not able to even attempt to translate is a Japanese ad. If you have can even read Japanese, I would appreciate it if you would review it and let me know what is says.

No, not yet. But I have not been pushing it, because I was busy with CommVEx, and Mitch was prepping for his marriage (and is supposedly now married and doing newlywed things). If I make to a TOGA meeting in August or September, I will ask him again.administrator wrote:Did you ever get a response to that translation?

Went to The Other Group of Amigoids meeting yesterday. Mitch had extreme trouble in deciphering the characters in the ad; the resolution of the scan was not good enough. He was able to make out a few words; under their respective photos, "printer", "personal computer", and "floppy disk" (note that it does not say floppy disk drive). The first few words of the first paragraph say,"Today's personal computer boom..."I wrote:If I make to a TOGA meeting in August or September, I will ask him again.
If you can provide a higher resolution scan of the ad, Mitch could do more with it.

Without more resolution in the ad, the Japanese characters will be impossible to read and the next person who tries to translate it will have the same problems.administrator wrote:Perhaps someone else reading this knows some Japanese.

Robert is quite right... I know some Japanese (I lived in Japan for 10½ years)... but too many of the complex kanji charachters are not clear enough to make a good translation of what's written. I was able to read the simpler katakana charachters, which is what Robert's friend was able to translate. But, since you said you wanted the entire ad translated, I didn't even bother saying anything...rbernardo wrote:Without more resolution in the ad, the Japanese characters will be impossible to read and the next person who tries to translate it will have the same problems.administrator wrote:Perhaps someone else reading this knows some Japanese.

Japanese is one of those languages, that can actually just shoot me in the head. Not just my head, but every others who are not Japanese as well. You are actually asking us to read the alien language are you not? Even aliens will wind it difficult to read it.

Hi Corbin;
Would you mind sending me a digital copy of that Japanese magazine as I would like to post in on our site (I think I may have a way to get it translated).
