Hello:
I would like to use a floppy emulator with my newly acquired VIC-20. C-64, and C-128 (once I get it working). The SD2IEC+ looks like the best option according to some users. I'd rather not have an emulator that requires me to provide a Raspberry Pi unit. Plus, I'd like the unit to be in a case of some sort to protect it. I also found a to be released product from Gideon. So far, they are taking pre-orders only at this time.
Your experienced input and recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Joe

Re: Seeking recommendation for VIC/64/128 floppy emulator
The SD2IEC is relatively inexpensive when compared to the 1541 Ultimate. Though the SD2IEC is not an exact 1541 replacement, it does well with single-load files and some multi-load programs. If the program requires exact disk drive timing, then the SD2IEC will fail. Having said that, I can tell you that many SD2IEC's come with a case.

I did order and receive the SD2IEC+. I have yet to try it out. I want to make a backup of the SD card that came with it before I do any testing.
Thank you!
