$91 (assuming USD) is very cheap for a like new in box 1581. These are the ones the collectors like myself are after, and bidding can be on the high side. A 1581 that has never been used, still with factory wrapped cables and manuals, with mint condition box.... Probably go for around $250. If you j...

I would check Jameco electronics. http://www.jameco.com/

For a fuse cap I doubt it would be anything commodore specific, and used a standard fuse type you will find at Jameco.

I would also recommend Ray, he repaired a C64 and SX64 of mine before.

Thats not what collecting commodores is about. For me its nostalgia. I received my first commodore when I was 9 years old, (parents bribing me to stop skipping school) and I spent most my pre-teen and teenage life on that computer. It gave me a love for computers that extended well into my adult lif...

Taking a train to Toronto Canada may be an idea. They have alot of shows and usergroups there with low priced units you could bring home.

I am always in need of a vacation so maybe I can visit you guys up there in Canada at one of your future shows. I could bring my extra 128D to sell there.

Is it worth that much?

For me I have the most sentimental attachments to the 64 and 128 models of commodore, and would have hundreds if I could.

Those old CBM models don't really interest me but as a collector I would consider purchasing it as it is not often you see something like that new in box.

I would have to visit the storage unit to be sure, but I dont think so.

The picture you see is from the one I kept, the ebay guy just used the same picture for both auctions. It had a #2 written on it, but it fairly easily came off.

Actually the pictures of it are still up here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300063261675 It shows it cost $102 but there was also $48 shipping and another insurance charge. The total I paid was $153.85, just so nobody thinks I was trying to rip them off. The only reason I b...

I am looking to get $153.85 for it. That represents the total I paid. It has the original box in good shape, except on the inside flap someone wrote on it with black permanent marker, looks like a garage sale marking. I actually still have the styrofoam for it, but it is in pieces, so you'd have to ...

If you ever swing by Seattle you can take a look at my extra one. It is mint condition with original box. No manuals or styrofoam inserts though.
